Telekom Austria signs up 100,000 ADSL subscribers in 2001

Telekom Austria announced that 100,000 ADSL customers were connected to its network by the end of last year. Subscribers grew by 15,000 in the second quarter of last year, and 14,000 and 15,000 in the third and fourth quarters respectively. Those numbers bring Telekom Austria to the forefront of Europe's ADSL penetration. The growth in ADSL customers also represents an important development in the company's fixed line strategy.
